This cold uncapping knife is specifically designed to allow beekeepers to quickly and easily cut through wax capping's on honey frames without the need for electricity. The 11 inch long, 1 3/8-inch-wide stainless-steel blade features a sharpened, angled edge that is ideal for removing wax caps, while preserving the honeycomb your bees worked hard to make.
Tips for Uncapping:
- Dipping the blade in hot water between frames allows the blade to slice cleanly through the wax.
- For even better efficiency, purchase two knives. Keep one in hot water and when the knife you are using cools, you can swap it with the warmed blade.
- Use a capping scratcher to open capping's you cannot reach with the knife.
